Northwest Tree Demonter Inc. (treetrimm) was founded in 2001 by Mr. Paul Laliberté, who gradually began by offering his services to cut trees dangerously located on properties. With only a ladder, a chainsaw and ropes, he embarked on this new challenge.
In 2002, Mr. Laliberté bought a Boom truck from a local electric company, which allowed him to offer better service and access considerable heights to prune trees.
In 2003-2004, thanks to word of mouth, as the demand for service became very high, it was necessary to hire two additional people part-time.
In 2005-2006, with demand still as high, Mr. Laliberté decided to leave his more than 20-year-old job at Gallant Entreprises to pursue his dream as an entrepreneur. His wife, Lise Daigle Cameron, decided to join Mr. Laliberté’s efforts to develop the company in the commercial sector.
In 2007, the company expanded its market by becoming a subcontractor for New Brunswick Energy, which required the hiring of six seasonal full-time employees. That year was very profitable for the company and announced a very promising future.
In 2008, the company joined and made significant investments in the acquisition of equipment, including an excavator equipped with a brushcutter, an 18-wheeled truck and a trailer, in order to increase its capacity and win new contracts throughout the province. Today, it has at least 12 vehicles as well as several major pieces of equipment.
In 2009, the company hired a team of 15 seasonal full-time employees, all certified in their own field. Each year, employees receive training and updates on previous training as well as new certifications every three years.
In 2010-2011, the company acquired a large plot of land and built a garage to maintain its equipment as well as to install administrative offices. During this period, she participated in disaster relief operations for NB Energy during the winter storm (2010) and Hurricane Irene (2011).
